Introduction
Seismic Research and Test Center (SESTEC) plays roles to improve seismic and vibration technologies
through the experiment and research of seismic performance of social infrastructures
and securing safety of main structures for dynamic loads.
As an accredited testing institution in the field of seismic and vibration technologies,
this center extablishes systematic procedures for test methods and raises the next generation researchers
and promotes the development of new structural systems and new technologies.
Purpose
-
To improve the safety of the infrastructures to the earthquake
-
To provide testing services related with the vibration test with shaking tables
-
To train the researchers in the field of the earthquake engineering
Status
- The largest and highest perfomance shaking table in Korea
- Researches and tests related with the seismic and vibration
- Internationally-certified testing center (KOLAS)
- Certification center for seismic testing and analysis about Nuclear Safety facilities (KoFons)
- Test field : Building and Civil structure, Machine, Ship, Nuclear power plant, Train, Military facilities
